In commemoration of
International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD)
International Overdose Awareness Day is a global event aim to raise awareness of overdose and reduce the stigma of a legal and illegal drug-related death. It also acknowledges the grief felt by families and friends remembering those who have met with death or permanent injury as a result of drug overdose.
Goals:
To Bring Communities together
To provide an opportunity for people to publicly mourn for love ones, without feeling of guilt or shame.
To give Community members information about the issue of fatal and non-fatal overdose.
To send a strong message to current and former drug users that they are valued and their addiction can be reintegrated
To stimulate discussion about overdose prevention and drug policy.
To remind all the risk of overdose
SAVE TOMORROW 5 was organized on Saturday 28th November 2020 – a walk/run from Rose & Jasmine Garden to Shakarparian Open-Air Theatre (0930 hrs to 1300 hrs).
Collaborations & Sponsors:
The event was organized in collaboration with UNODC Pakistan, Islamabad Serena Hotel, Jaffer Brothers (Pvt) Ltd, United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP), OGDCL, Waltex Paints and FM 91.
Media Coverage:
The event was covered by national and international media.
There were 4 categories of the Participants
– Athlete – Boys & Girls
– Teens – Boys & Girls
– Senior – Male & Female
– Special Boys & Girls
The winners received medals in each category and the participants received certificates
– The volunteers of KKAWF performed Jerusalema Challenge
– 12 Stalls were given to students booked in first come basis -Entrepreneurship Club
