International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD)
International Overdose Awareness Day is a global event aim to raise awareness of overdose and reduce the stigma of a legal and illegal drug-related death. It also acknowledges the grief felt by families and friends remembering those who have met with death or permanent injury as a result of drug overdose.
Goals:
To provide an opportunity for people to publicly mourn for love ones, without feeling of guilt or shame.
To give Community members information about the issue of fatal and non-fatal overdose.
To send a strong message to current and former drug users that they are valued and their addiction can be reintegrated
To stimulate discussion about overdose prevention and drug policy.
To remind all the risk of overdose
SAVE TOMORROW 4 was organized at the Pakistan Sports Board (Sports Complex Islamabad) on Saturday, 21st of September 2018 from 1600 hrs to 1930 hrs. The activities were planned for the youth, majorly for the students from different educational institutions of Islamabad, who will represent their respective institutions and will participate with their counselors and families.
Football Matches:
In collaboration with the Pakistan Football Federation, two matches of men and women of national teams were organized to promote sports and physical activity among the youth.
The winning team received trophy, while all the participating players received gold and silver medals
Collaborations & Sponsors:
The event was organized in collaboration with UNODC Pakistan, Islamabad Serena Hotel, United States Educational Foundation Pakistan (USEFP) and Pakistan Sports Board (PSB).
